I forgot to reply to your question the other day (week?) about the crib thing. My middle girl, Abby, literally climbed out of her crib at 10 months for the first time. (She's half monkey, we think.) But...the good news it that she didn't do it again for many, many months. She was still in her crib until we needed it for baby sister. So...you might still have some time yet!
