I was scrambling like a mad woman around the house getting ready for an appointment today. You see, we hardly leave the house, so it's a huge undertaking for me. Very stressful. I couldn't find one of my shoes (which little one is well known to drag from one end of the house to the other) and he says to me, "FOCUS!" When I'm frazzled and I forget what I'm doing, I stop and clap one good time, super loud like some kind of goofball and say, "Focus, Carrie... what are you looking for? Focus!" As in, "You can do this. Pull yourself together!" I have to pep talk myself through stuff sometimes. Scratch that. All the time.
So, anyway - my baby knows me well enough to say, "Focus." I so love it.

That is so funny! Did you just die laughing? I would've been on the floor laughing. It's so cute how they repeat things we say. The other day my son burped and my 4 year old said, "Gracious, brother, gracious!" It such a funny word to come out of such a little girl! But it's soooo much better than her saying my other favorite phrase, "Oh crap!" I would be in HOT WATER with my Hubby if that came out of her mouth!

Hello! If that isn't the most adorable thing! As little as he is, he probably saw your "harried" look and said to himself, "Oh, I've seen THAT look before. Why isn't she saying 'focus?' Well, I guess I'd better say it for her, otherwise we will NEVER get out of here." What a little sweetheart -- such a cute story!
